Summer's End
It’s weird, this odd sense of depression when I come home at three in the morning and wait to see the dawn. It’s not coming as early anymore. In Seattle, that means Winer is rapidly approaching. Yes, we do get Fall here, but it’s only marked by Halloween; then the rains come. One night of every woman in sight dressed in a slutty costume and me as a dead thing, then nine months of rain interlaced with four months of darkness. I only feel the “Hurry up! Hurry up!” of the ant and the grasshopper fable—I need to enjoy Summer.
But, damn! It’s already over!
So, let’s finish playing the band of Summer 2008, Frightened Rabbit, and get ready to curl up in the oncoming Winter. May I suggest learning the rules to Zombietown, quite possibly the coolest strategy game ever (once the rules are untangled, of course)? Nothing is better to beat the Winter blues than blowing the heads of dead things as you hunt and kill friends and loved ones. Try pairing this bloody delightful experience with a nice porter or, even better, try The Abyss.

Okay, perhaps I’m being just the tiniest bit apocalyptic, but we really are in the last few days of heat and sunlight. Enjoy it! Go camping already, damn it!
And somebody find me a new Winter album!
Oh, shit, is that the cooling fan on my laptop going off?
