Keith's Bad Day/ReBoot 10

25. June, 2008 | by John Moroney

Yes, it’s time once again for ReBoot, the conference that brings all geeks to one spot to discuss the intersection of technology and culture. Keith goes every year, and it’s always an interesting story. This morning I received a rather distressed phone call from our Mr. Bingman and, while I generally eschew schadenfreude, I find that I must share.

Keith’s day began when, unbeknownst to Keith, the cat peed in his suitcase (for some reason, Keith always owns cats that pee on his clothing). Keith discovered this malodorous surprise when his suitcase came down off the ramp in Copenhagen. It was open, you see. Oh, dear.

Upon checking his hotel reservation, our intrepid Mr. Bingman noticed an interesting fact: his hotel was in Sweden, not Denmark. Oh, no!

Off to the train! Unfortunately, Keith had let his credit card back in Germany. Oh me, oh my!

Wait, it gets better!

Keith somehow managed to pay for the train, but never actually received a ticket. It didn’t really matter anyway, because he missed the train while talking to me on the phone about what a horrible day he was having.

“I hope this day ends soon,” he told me. “I really can’t take much more of it.”

If I could only stop laughing . . .
