Saturday Morning Cartoons

21. June, 2008 | by John Moroney

I love Saturday mornings! I wake up early and gorge on on rice milk and Peanut Butter Panda Puffs, watching cartoons while the organic cane syrup wreaks havoc on my personality (cane syrup is a substitute for sugar. It’s supposed to be better for you, but it’s basically a form of politically green crack. I feel like Cheech snorting Chong after every serving). Then it’s time for my favorite Ethiopian coffee, tiny little beans roasted two blocks from my house and $23 a pound, French pressed with hot, but not boiling, Evian water.

You think I’m joking? Try it. It’s like heaven.

This morning’s cartoon was eight kinds of rad. I stumbled across an episode of the original Star Trek, something from season three. Being a geek, I was enthralled when I realized I hadn’t seen this one before. About three minutes in, I realized why: this is quite possibly the worst and most horrendously hilarious episode of Star Trek ever put to tape. It’s actually embarrassing to watch. Captain Kirk’s body has been swapped—a woman rules his mind! Oh, this is Bill Shatner’s finest moment. It should be required viewing for every Women’s Studies class in America.

Captain Kirk in drag! Click it, sexy!

On the bright side, CBS has a lot of cool shows available on this site. On the dark side, their full screen mode is incredibly fucking retarded. Oh no, did I just say “retarded?” Oh, wait, I own this site.

P.S. As I haven’t enabled comments, but I am the All Powerful BKR Admin, I am going to add my two cents here. In addition to this episode being among the worst, it was also the last ever aired. Now we know why it was cancelled.
