It's Jidaigeki!

This is Ueto Aya. Obviously this song is some sort of answer to the success of No Doubt. At least we don’t have to listen to Gwen Stefani’s inane lyrics!



However, it does get better. We get to see what has never been seen before on film: one person single-handedly slashing 200 warriors! I mean, you can just imagine the hundreds and hundreds of takes Ms. Ueto had to go through to get just that one special splatter of blood across her face, but not in her eyes!

Remember: it’s not a ordinary period film—it’s Jidaigeki!



I love Japanese pop culture. It always leaves me strangely giddy and wondering, “What just happened?”
