I was having a discussion with a rather brilliant friend of mine about moral relativism. I pointed out that in some situations (favorable circumstances and low consequences) a course of action otherwise deemed wrong might be okay. He just said that right is right and wrong is wrong and started beating me over the head with an Aristotelian text.
As usual, he was trying to make me see the outcome of a present course of action through logical and rational thought. Alas, I am the world’s crappiest chess player and have a long history of learning by experience only.
My friend predicted, applying simple logic to knowledge accepted by us both, that there would be rat trap in the cookie jar. There was actually a nuclear weapon.
